Collectibles Loan FAQ
Can I borrow against my card or comic collection?
Yes. Graded collectibles serve as collateral for loans of $25,000 to $2 million, with terms from 1 to 36 months. You keep ownership and the collection is returned or stored when the loan is repaid.
How much can I borrow against collectibles?
Loan-to-value typically ranges from 25% to 75% of the appraised value, based on recent sales for the same item and grade. Higher grades and items with deep sales history support a higher figure.
Do items need to be graded?
Graded items are strongly preferred because their value is easier to establish. Ungraded high-value items can be submitted for grading first, at cost.
How is this different from a pawn shop or a dealer loan?
Pawn shops and dealers often lend at a steep discount to resale. We value items on recent market sales, store them in an insured vault, and lock the record so nothing can be swapped, sold or pledged twice.
Do you check my credit?
No. The decision is based on the collection, not your credit history or income.
Is the loan non-recourse?
Non-recourse terms are available on qualifying loans, meaning the collection is the lender’s only remedy. Your term sheet states plainly whether your loan is non-recourse.
Can I repay early?
Yes. Generally, there is no prepayment penalty. Repay at any time and your collection is returned or stored with its record intact, ready if you want to borrow again.
