The Record

The same diamond, confirmed.

A diamond can be swapped for a lesser stone that looks identical to the eye. The record is built to rule that out — documented before storage, locked while a loan is open, and confirmed again at return.

Report & inscription

The GIA report number is matched to the laser inscription on the girdle, where present.

Measurements

Exact dimensions and carat weight are recorded at intake and re-checked at return.

Grading details

Color, clarity, cut and fluorescence are recorded, with the report’s plotted inclusions for identification.

Mounting

Metal, setting and any maker’s marks on the mounting are photographed and noted.

The Process

Verify once. Borrow when you choose.

01
Submit

Send photos of the piece, any maker’s marks or serial numbers, and any laboratory reports, certificates or receipts.

02
Verify and record

A credentialed gemologist identifies and grades the stones, confirms lab reports against the piece, and documents maker’s marks and condition. Appraisal is billed at cost.

03
Store

Insured collection or shipping to secure, insured vault storage. Your diamond is insured at full replacement value from the moment it leaves your hands.

04
Borrow when you choose

Receive a confidential, no-obligation term sheet. Repay at any time and your diamond is returned or stored with its record intact.

Common Questions

Diamond Loan FAQ

How much can I borrow against a diamond?

Loan-to-value typically ranges from 25% to 75% of the appraised value. Carat, color, clarity, cut and the laboratory report drive the figure. Loans range from $25,000 to $2 million.

Can I borrow against a diamond without a GIA report?

Yes, but we will arrange a laboratory report first, billed at cost. A current report is the basis for valuing and identifying the stone.

Can I borrow against my engagement ring?

Yes. Rings are valued mainly on the center stone and its report, with the mounting and any maker’s signature considered as well.

Will I get the same diamond back?

Yes. The stone is matched to its report, inscription and measurements before storage and checked against them again at return. While a loan is open the record is locked, so the piece cannot be sold, swapped or pledged twice.

Do you check my credit?

No. The decision is based on the diamond, not your credit history or income.

Is the loan non-recourse?

Non-recourse terms are available on qualifying loans, meaning the diamond is the lender’s only remedy. Your term sheet states plainly whether your loan is non-recourse.

Can I repay early?

Yes. Generally, there is no prepayment penalty. Repay at any time and your diamond is returned or stored with its record intact, ready if you want to borrow again.
