Signed Jewelry Lending

Loans Against Signed Jewelry. The signature is part of the value.

A Cartier or Van Cleef & Arpels signature can be worth far more than the gold and stones alone. Borrow against signed pieces at a value that reflects the maker, with authentication, insured vault storage and a locked record.

The Record

Signed, authenticated, recorded.

Signed jewelry is widely counterfeited, and signatures are sometimes added to unsigned pieces. The record documents what makes your piece genuine — before storage, locked while a loan is open, and yours to keep.

Signature & serial

Maker’s signature, serial number and hallmarks are photographed and recorded.

Authentication

A specialist examines construction, stones and marks against the house’s known production.

Documentation

Certificates, boxes, receipts and any house appraisal are recorded with the piece.

Condition at intake

High-resolution photography and a written condition report, compared again at return.

The Process

Verify once. Borrow when you choose.

01
Submit

Send photos of the piece, any maker’s marks or serial numbers, and any laboratory reports, certificates or receipts.

02
Verify and record

A credentialed gemologist identifies and grades the stones, confirms lab reports against the piece, and documents maker’s marks and condition. Appraisal is billed at cost.

03
Store

Insured collection or shipping to secure, insured vault storage. Your piece is insured at full replacement value from the moment it leaves your hands.

04
Borrow when you choose

Receive a confidential, no-obligation term sheet. Repay at any time and your piece is returned or stored with its record intact.

Common Questions

Signed Jewelry Loan FAQ

How much can I borrow against Cartier or Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry?

Loan-to-value typically ranges from 25% to 75% of the appraised value, based on secondary-market prices for signed pieces rather than metal and stone weight. Loans range from $25,000 to $2 million.

Do I need the original box and papers?

They help but are not required. The piece is authenticated on its construction, signature and serial number. Missing documentation may affect the amount, not necessarily eligibility.

Can I borrow against an Alhambra necklace?

Yes, if the combined value reaches our $25,000 minimum. Smaller pieces can be combined with others in one facility.

Will I get the same piece back?

Yes. Signature, serial, stones and condition are documented before storage and checked again at return. While a loan is open the record is locked, so the piece cannot be sold, swapped or pledged twice.

Do you check my credit?

No. The decision is based on the piece, not your credit history or income.

Is the loan non-recourse?

Non-recourse terms are available on qualifying loans, meaning the piece is the lender’s only remedy. Your term sheet states plainly whether your loan is non-recourse.

Can I repay early?

Yes. Generally, there is no prepayment penalty. Repay at any time and your piece is returned or stored with its record intact, ready if you want to borrow again.
