Fine Wine Lending

Fine Wine Loans. Your cellar, working for you.

A well-stored cellar of blue-chip wine can be borrowed against like any other collection. Keep the wine, keep its storage history unbroken, and use its value with a loan secured by the collection itself.

The Record

Provenance you can prove.

Counterfeit and badly stored wine has made buyers wary. A documented, unbroken storage record protects your wine’s value at resale as much as it secures a loan.

Bottle-level record

Producer, vintage, format and quantity are recorded for each lot.

Fill & label

Fill levels, labels and capsules are photographed and graded.

Original cases

Unopened original wooden cases are noted as such.

Unbroken storage

Storage conditions are monitored, extending your collection’s documented storage history.

The Process

Verify once. Borrow when you choose.

01
Submit

Send a list of bottles or cases, photos of labels and capsules, and any purchase records or storage history.

02

Professional collection and transport to temperature- and humidity-controlled, insured storage. Your collection is insured at full replacement value from the moment it leaves your hands.

04
Borrow when you choose

Receive a confidential, no-obligation term sheet. Repay at any time and your collection is returned or stored with its record intact.

Common Questions

Fine Wine Loan FAQ

How much can I borrow against fine wine?

Loan-to-value typically ranges from 25% to 75% of the appraised value, based on recent auction and trade prices for each wine. Loans range from $25,000 to $2 million.

Does wine stored at home qualify?

It can, but wine kept in a professional facility generally supports a higher valuation because its storage can be documented. A specialist inspects home-stored wine before any loan.

Will my wine be moved?

Wine is collected by specialist handlers and moved to temperature- and humidity-controlled storage, unless it can remain in its current professional facility.

Will I get the same bottles back?

Yes. Every lot is recorded with photographs before storage and checked again at return. While a loan is open the record is locked, so bottles cannot be sold, swapped or pledged twice.

Do you check my credit?

No. The decision is based on the collection, not your credit history or income.

Is the loan non-recourse?

Non-recourse terms are available on qualifying loans, meaning the collection is the lender’s only remedy. Your term sheet states plainly whether your loan is non-recourse.

Can I repay early?

Yes. Generally, there is no prepayment penalty. Repay at any time and your collection is returned or stored with its record intact, ready if you want to borrow again.
