Don’t see your bottles? Tell us about it — significant pieces are reviewed case by case.
Sealed, verified, recorded.
Refilled and counterfeit bottles are a real problem in rare whisky. The record documents seals, labels and fill before storage, locks the collection while a loan is open, and confirms it at return.
Seals, capsules and any tamper-evident features are photographed and checked.
Labels, bottle numbers and batch codes are recorded.
Fill level is recorded, since evaporation affects value.
Boxes, certificates and presentation cases are recorded with each bottle.
Verify once. Borrow when you choose.
Send a list of bottles or cases, photos of labels and capsules, and any purchase records or storage history.
A wine and spirits specialist inspects bottles, labels, capsules and fill levels, and documents provenance and storage history. Appraisal is billed at cost.
Professional collection and transport to temperature- and humidity-controlled, insured storage. Your collection is insured at full replacement value from the moment it leaves your hands.
Receive a confidential, no-obligation term sheet. Repay at any time and your collection is returned or stored with its record intact.
Rare Whisky Loan FAQ
How much can I borrow against rare whisky?
Loan-to-value typically ranges from 25% to 75% of the appraised value, based on recent auction prices. Complete packaging and good fill levels support a higher figure. Loans range from $25,000 to $2 million.
Can I borrow against a whisky cask?
Casks held in a bonded warehouse with clear ownership documents are reviewed case by case.
Do I need the original box?
It helps. For many collectible releases, the original box or presentation case is part of the value.
Will I get the same bottles back?
Yes. Seals, labels, numbers and fill are documented before storage and checked again at return. While a loan is open the record is locked, so bottles cannot be sold, swapped or pledged twice.
Do you check my credit?
No. The decision is based on the collection, not your credit history or income.
Is the loan non-recourse?
Non-recourse terms are available on qualifying loans, meaning the collection is the lender’s only remedy. Your term sheet states plainly whether your loan is non-recourse.
Can I repay early?
Yes. Generally, there is no prepayment penalty. Repay at any time and your collection is returned or stored with its record intact, ready if you want to borrow again.
